Primanti Bros. was established in 1933 in Pittsburgh’s Strip District. It is known for its signature sandwiches made with grilled meat, coleslaw, and french fries between two slices of Italian bread. The restaurant and its sandwiches have been featured in publications like National Geographic and on TV shows such as Man v. Food. In recent years, it has become a tradition for Pittsburgh Steelers NFL draft picks to visit the original Primanti Bros. location upon their arrival in the city. In 2022, President Joe Biden and Senator John Fetterman also visited Primanti Bros. The chain has also released sports-themed sandwiches in honor of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
