The Best Themed Trivia Nights This Week (June 15–21, 2026)

This week’s themed trivia lineup is running on two very different kinds of energy.

One is pure, live, right-now sports fever — the 2026 FIFA World Cup is happening on American soil and bars across the country are channeling that into trivia nights while the tournament is still going on. The other is pure nostalgia fuel: Toy Story 5 hits theaters this month, and trivia organizers have been ready for this moment since the first trailer dropped.

Add Taylor Swift to the mix and you’ve got a week that covers pretty much every corner of the themed trivia universe.

  • The Office

Featured Themed Trivia Nights This Week

⚽ World Cup Trivia — Multiple Locations

The FIFA World Cup is literally happening right now — on American soil for the first time since 1994 — and bars are making the most of it.

World Cup trivia nights work especially well during a live tournament because the casual fan suddenly becomes the most valuable person at the table. You don’t have to have memorized 30 years of international soccer history. You just have to have been watching.

Two World Cup trivia nights stand out this week:

McLoone’s Boathouse — West Orange, NJ — Thursday, June 18 — 6:30 PM

McLoone’s Boathouse is a waterfront venue that holds up well for competitive trivia. This one is organized by Trivia, AD — one of the original themed trivia companies in the tri-state area — so expect a well-run event with a solid mix of historical and current tournament questions.

Pourworks Craft Beer & Wine Bar — Raleigh, NC — Saturday, June 20 — 7:00 PM

Pourworks brings World Cup trivia to Raleigh on Saturday night — the best possible slot for a casual-crowd trivia event. The craft beer selection doesn’t hurt either.

If you’ve been keeping up with the tournament, Saturday at 7 PM is when you get to finally cash in all that knowledge you’ve been accumulating in front of the TV.

Possible team names:

  • Own Goal Scholars
  • Stoppage Time Smarties
  • The VAR Reviewers
  • Group Stage Graduates

🧸 Toy Story Trivia — Beavercreek, OH & Campbell, CA

Toy Story 5 is coming out this month.

That is almost certainly why Toy Story trivia nights are popping up across multiple states right now, and it’s also why these events are going to attract both the deeply nostalgic and the freshly re-obsessed.

The fun thing about Toy Story trivia is how deceptively hard it is. Everyone has seen the movies. Everyone is confident. Then someone asks about a background character from Toy Story 2 and suddenly the table is in chaos.

Two events happening on the exact same night — Wednesday, June 17 — in two completely different parts of the country:

On Par Entertainment — Beavercreek, OH — Wednesday, June 17 — 7:00 PM

On Par Entertainment is a relaxed, family-friendly venue that’s exactly the right atmosphere for a trivia night built around Pixar nostalgia. The event is free to play with prizes for winners, which is hard to argue with.

Their event copy says “You’ve got a friend in trivia night.” Whoever wrote that deserves credit.

Kirk’s Steakburgers — Campbell, CA — Wednesday, June 17 — 7:00 PM

RiskyQuizness brings Toy Story trivia to Kirk’s Steakburgers in Campbell, promising a trip “all the way to Pizza Planet.”

The San Jose area gets a solid Toy Story night on what appears to be peak Toy Story week nationally.

Study up before you go:

  • All four films plus the short films
  • Character names and backstories
  • What happens in Toy Story 2 specifically (it’s always Toy Story 2)
  • Buzz Lightyear lore
  • Pizza Planet appearances across the franchise

Possible team names:

  • You’ve Got a Friend in Trivia
  • Woody’s Roundup Crew
  • Buzz and the Brainiacs
  • The Pizza Planet Regulars

🎸 Taylor Swift Trivia — Grand Rapids, MI

Taylor Swift trivia nights have stopped being novelty events and become something closer to a standing institution.

King Trivia is hosting a Taylor Swift night at The Bistro at Courtyard by Marriott Downtown in Grand Rapids on Thursday, June 18. The Midwest Swiftie demographic does not mess around, and Grand Rapids has a strong enough event scene to make this one worth traveling for.

Expect questions covering all eras, album release timelines, music video details, easter eggs, and at least one round where knowing a vault track is the difference between winning and not.

There is going to be someone at this event who has memorized every song in release order. There is also going to be someone who thought they could wing it.

Study topics before you go:

  • Album release dates and full tracklists
  • Re-recorded albums and vault tracks
  • Music video and tour references
  • Era-specific easter eggs and color coding
  • Award show history

Possible team names:

  • Swifties Who Studied
  • All Too True
  • The Mastermind Table
  • Long Story Short, We Knew Everything

Tips Before You Go

If you’re planning to hit one of these trivia nights this week:

  • Arrive early — World Cup and Toy Story nights especially will fill up with the current buzz around both
  • For World Cup trivia, knowing current tournament results is just as valuable as knowing soccer history
  • For Toy Story, it’s always Toy Story 2 that gets you — go rewatch it
  • For Taylor Swift, vault tracks and re-recordings are fair game
  • Pick your team name before you get there — you’ll spend the whole first round arguing about it otherwise

There’s always one team that studied all week. Don’t be surprised when they win.

Final Thoughts

Three very different fandoms are driving this week’s themed trivia scene.

The World Cup brings together casual soccer fans and sports trivia regulars in the same room at exactly the right moment. Toy Story 5 has put Pixar nostalgia back on everyone’s radar, and trivia organizers across the country jumped on it fast. And Taylor Swift trivia keeps doing what it always does — filling rooms with people who are somehow more prepared than they should be for a Thursday night.

Whatever side of those fandoms you’re on, there’s almost certainly an event this week worth showing up for.

Gather your smartest friends, overthink your team name, and go prove your fandom knowledge.
